The University of California Merced is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment and at the same time support environmentally sound practices. The goal of the Be Smart About Safety Program is to prevent all workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents.
Each year UC Merced receives a small amount of its total budget allocation to fund proactive Loss Prevention and Loss Control projects. This funding is intended for projects specific to the purpose of reducing the frequency and/or severity of potential loss in the areas of our workers' compensation, general liability, employment, auto and property programs.
