Travel Risk and Insurance

To Make Travel Reservations

The UC travel insurance policies have an exclusion to the War Risk benefit for travel to Afghanistan, Belarus, Israel, Lebanon, Palestinian Territories, Russia, Ukraine, and Yemen in addition to the US and the traveler’s home country. War Risk coverage generally refers to coverage for losses (loss of life or other injuries) resulting from war-related events. Other medical and non-medical benefits, including the security evacuation benefit, remain in effect.

If you would like to buy back this coverage for your trip, contact your campus Travel Risk Manager no less than 5 business days before departure and provide your travel dates, trip purpose, affiliation with UC, and the UC cost account code that can be charged for the premium amount. The premium will depend on these factors, but the market rate is in the $700 per day ballpark.
